Linux and Windows administration
We maintain server environments according to their purpose and criticality. We plan upgrades, check capacity, manage services and analyse the causes of instability.
Behind every business application are servers, storage and a network. We make sure these parts are connected, maintained and documented.
We maintain server environments according to their purpose and criticality. We plan upgrades, check capacity, manage services and analyse the causes of instability.
We help plan and maintain VMware and Proxmox environments. Before a migration we check virtual machines, storage, network connections, licences and recovery options.
We manage file services and access rights, with solutions such as ownCloud and network storage. We connect employee needs with access rules, capacity and backup.
Every important change needs preparation, a schedule, verification and a rollback plan. We document key dependencies so that knowledge of the system does not depend on someone's memory.
We get to know the system, users, risks and the desired outcome.
We define scope, schedule, responsibilities and post-work checks.
We document what was done and agree on ongoing maintenance.
The administrative scope may include Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, SUSE and Windows Server, depending on the existing environment. We review services, logs, certificates, scheduled tasks, user permissions and resource consumption. For business applications we document the links between the application server, SQL database, file resources and network rules.
In VMware environments we check virtual machines, vCPU/RAM allocation, datastores, network adapters and backup dependencies. We treat Proxmox and Ceph as an area of planning and technical evaluation: we assess compatibility, storage requirements and migration options before a decision on implementation. We do not present an evaluation as an already completed production migration.
The file-sharing review covers users, groups, permissions, versioning, quotas, capacity and background tasks. We connect the application layer, database, storage and TLS access with the agreed backup. Before major upgrades we plan a compatibility check, configuration protection and a controlled rollback.
Project experience includes Linux and ownCloud administration and coordinating server requirements in migrations related to the EDIS/Pantheon environment. Infrastructure responsibilities are kept separate from application ownership and the obligations of its vendor.
Yes. We start with a review of the system, available documentation, administrative permissions and backups. After that we agree on priorities and the scope of responsibility.
No. Our recommendations are based on condition, compatibility, vendor support and business risk. Where it makes sense, we use the existing equipment.
